Children with Koru Care Christchurch are about to receive a boost from a new fundraising initiative—a charity art auction organised by the North West Christchurch Kiwanis Club.

This special event aims to support Koru Care’s mission of creating unforgettable, life-changing experiences for children with serious medical conditions.

Since 1985, Koru Care Christchurch has been devoted to bringing joy and hope to more than 860 young people who face significant health challenges.

Each year, Koru Care arranges trips that give these children a chance to escape their everyday struggles and immerse themselves in fun, educational, and empowering adventures.

These trips, which cost around $6,000 per child, are made possible in part thanks to Air New Zealand, which generously sponsors a seat for each child. The trips are staffed by dedicated volunteer carers, as well as two nurses and a doctor, ensuring the children’s safety and well-being.

The bond between Koru Care Christchurch and the North West Christchurch Kiwanis Club dates back to 2002.

Over the years, the Kiwanis Club has been a source of support, raising funds through various creative and heartfelt efforts.

Now, the North West Christchurch Kiwanis Club is hosting a charity art auction to continue their support for Koru Care and the children who benefit from its mission.

Guest Celebrity TV Presenter Miriama Kamo will attend the event.

Here is a sample of some of the artwork:

The auction promises a wide array of artwork, donated by local artists who are eager to support this worthy cause.

All proceeds will go directly to Koru Care Christchurch, helping to fund future trips and activities for children in need.

This art auction exemplifies the Kiwanis catchphrase, “Serving the Children of the World,” and underscores the ongoing commitment of both Koru Care Christchurch and the North West Christchurch Kiwanis Club to making a positive impact in the lives of children.

With the community’s support, this event will provide vital funding to ensure that more children can experience the joy and freedom that these trips offer.

The art auction is a chance for art lovers and community members to come together, celebrate creativity, and support a cause that brings joy and hope to young lives.

By participating, attendees can play a part in helping Koru Care Christchurch continue its invaluable work.
