Christchurch’s own Flounna Mosa, a 14-year-old local, has brought pride to New Zealand by winning the title of Teen Miss Universe in Turkey.
Born in New Zealand, Flounna brings a rich cultural heritage from Iraq and the Philippines.
Her mum said her daughter’s interests are as diverse as her background, enjoying reading, singing, playing badminton both as a sport and a hobby, and volunteering for the community at St Vinnies.
Flounna said, “I bring a new perspective to pageants as a diverse person. I am here to show, no matter how unique you might be, you can still stand up on this stage and shine with your fellow pageant princesses.”
Her words reflected her mission to represent her country and her heritage proudly.
