A man has been rushed to hospital following an incident on Colombo Street.
Emergency services were called to Armadillos restaurant in Beckenham at about 9.15PM.
Chris Lynch Media understands an injured man, who had a stab wound to his arm, entered Armadillos and collapsed on the floor.
Detectives were at the restaurant speaking to staff to understand what happened.
Multiple police units lined the opposite side of the street where the incident took place.
Fire and Emergency services were also called to the scene.
A police spokesperson said emergency services responded to a report received at 9.15pm of an injured person at a premises in Colombo Street, Christchurch.
One person was transported to hospital, enquiries are ongoing.
The road was not blocked off.
