A man was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after allegedly being attacked in Parklands on Sunday.

A police spokesperson said officers were called to Queenspark Drive about 1AM following a report of someone being found with injuries.

It’s understood the man was attacked by a group of people.

A St John spokesman said they were notified of an incident on Queenspark Drive at 1.02am and responded with an ambulance, s rapid response unit and an operations manager.  

“Our paramedics treated and transported one patient to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.”

Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing the police spokesperson said.
