The body of a man missing in the water at Glenorchy has been located by the Police National Dive Squad.
His body was recovered at about 3.50pm Friday at Lake Wakatipu.
The man, a visitor from Australia, was helping a child in the water when he got into trouble himself police said.
“Police’s thoughts are with the man’s whanau and loved ones at this difficult time.
The man’s death will be referred to the Coroner.”
It’s the second incident at Lake Wakatipu in less than a week after Wānaka man Linkin Kisling died on Friday last week saving his 10-year-old son.
