Offenders failed to smash their way into the Kathmandu store at Tower Junction in Christchurch overnight.
A police spokesman said officers were called to commercial premises on Clarence Street at around 1.57am.
A vehicle had been used to force entry into the building.
The vehicle, which was stolen from a house in a quiet quiet cul-de-sac in Halswell, was still at the scene when police arrived.
Police didn’t provide Chris Lynch Media with descriptions of the offenders.
They failed to enter the building, and nothing was stolen.
“Our enquiries are ongoing” the spokesman said.
