Fire and Emergency crews are at the scene of a house fire in Lyttelton.

A fire communications spokeswoman said they received the call at 1.35pm Thursday to a property on Cressy Terrace.

She said two appliances are at the scene and the fire has been contained within the house.

Fire and Emergency received four calls regarding the blaze.

A St John ambulance has been called as a precautionary measure for a member of a public who has suffered smoke inhalation.

No one was inside the house at the time of the blaze.

There’s no word on the cause of the fire, but a fire investigator has been called to the scene.
