Christchurch’s only 24 hour surgery was forced to closed its doors on Tuesday night due to high demand.
In statement on the 24 Hour Surgery Facebook page, posted at about 10PM, it said 24HS is closed due to high demand.
The surgery on Madras Street in the central city said “in an emergency call 111. If you need urgent care please call Healthline on 0800 611 116 or visit Christchurch Hospital ED.
It said it was currently full and couldn’t take anymore patients.
It would post another update when the situation changed.
“If it is not urgent you can make a virtual appointment at Practice Plus [email protected] Otherwise visit www.yourbestcare.co.nz for options on accessing care.”
A former staff member told Chris Lynch “for them to close to patients, it must be crazy busy.”
The Riccarton Clinic is open until 8PM, while the Moorhouse Ave clinic was open until 4pm.
Te Whatu Ora – Canterbury was approached for comment on late Tuesday night.
