Specialist LandSAR teams searching for Wayne Taylor, who was reported missing on 22 February, have found a body.

The 54-year-old was last seen on 20 February in Blenheim, and had been expected to drive to Christchurch, police said in a series of statements.

He was reported missing on 22 February, and his silver 2011 Mercedes-Benz station wagon was found on 23 February at a lookout north of Kaikōura.

Police said the body of a man matching Mr Taylor’s description was located yesterday afternoon at the base of a cliff inland from where his car was located at a lookout just north of Kaikōura.

His death is not considered suspicious and will be referred to the Coroner.
