Power has been cut to over 2000 properties in St Albans.
At 11:57 am, a power outage occurred, with residents reporting power lines smoking, melting and then dropping to the ground.

“They’ve shut the roads now, I’m on the corner of Purchas and Madras and it’s all go”, Chris Lynch Media was told by one resident.
According to the Orion website, crews are currently attending the scene and the power is estimated to be restored at 2:24 pm.

The cause of the outage is still under investigation.
