Protestors in tractors, trucks, and utes are travelling along Memorial Avenue in Christchurch as they send a clear message to the Government over a range of regulations.
Groundswell Christchurch Organiser Aaron stark told Chris Lynch it’s “organised chaos, and there are far more people who have turned out than we could have ever anticipated.”
“We got lawyers, vets, mechanics, all supporting us. The number of signs from supporters along Memorial Avenue has been amazing.”
Stark said they were going to turn around and head back towards the airport, but they’ve decided to keep moving towards the centre city, mainly because they’re getting reports of more and more protestors joining the rally.
He said the tail of one rally stretches from Memorial Avenue down to Hornby.
Stark said another rally is about 8 kilometres in length.
There are similar scenes in Timaru with farmers moving slowly down the city’s main road.
