Three outdoor head pump units have been stolen overnight from the Linwood Avenue Community Corner Trust.

The units were stolen on the same night that Christchurch dipped to -6°C in what was described as unseasonably cold weather.

In a Facebook post the trust said “we are a charity and while we wait for police reports to be processed and insurance claims to come through our weekly activities that we run to serve you, our community, such as our Food Bank, Community Lunch, Girls Group and exercise classes will be happening in the cold as we can not heat the building.”

Members of the public who saw anything suspicious around the Linwood Avenue Union Church, during the late hours of Thursday 9th of May and early hours of Friday 10th May, are being urged to contact the trust or the police.
