Emergency services are currently in attendance at a serious crash on the Bluff Highway, Southland, with one person with “critical injuries”.
The single-vehicle crash was reported to police around 12.30pm today.
A police spokesperson said, “Initial indications suggest one person has received critical injuries.”
A section of Bluff Highway is currently closed due to the crash.
Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to expect delays while emergency services work at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
A St John spokesperson told Chris Lynch Media that they responded with one ambulance, one rapid response unit and one manager.
“One person was assessed at the scene and has been transported to Kew Hospital in a moderate condition,” the St John spokesperson said.
