Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash in New Brighton.

They were called to Estuary Road near Jervois Street at 7.30PM.

A police spokesperson said it was reported as a two vehicle crash.

A resident said a silver car appeared to have lost control around the bend smashed into a parked car, which hit powerlines. 

Firefighters had to cut the door to get the driver out the resident said.  

One person has been seriously injured.

The road is blocked while emergency services respond.

Serious Crash Unit have been notified, enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are underway the police spokesperson said
