North Canterbury police have issued a stern warning to vandals knocking over regulatory road signs.

Regulatory signs advise drivers of restrictions such as speed limit signs, stop signs, and parking restriction signs.

Acting Sergeant Bill Parker expressed concern over a recent series of incidents where road signs have been “deliberately knocked over.”

He urged members of the public to call 111 if they sae offenders committing the crimes, so those responsible “could be held accountable.

If you come across any downed road signs, please report it to us by calling 105.”
