A mother and her two year old daughter were forced to run from her dairy last night during an aggravated robbery.
At around 5.50pm, police were called to Gore Street, after youth offenders entered the store and threatened the retailer.
During the aggravated robbery, the female shop owner picked up her daughter, who was playing on the ground, and tried to escape.
As she tried to leave the store, she tripped over injuring her foot.
Thankfully her daughter was unharmed.
He husband told Chris Lynch Media his family was “traumatised”by the attack.
“My wife wants all of our family to be together now when the store is open until closing.”
The offenders stole tobacco before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
A card written by a child was stuck to the outside of the window offering the family support.
Several residents were in shock over the attack.
One woman told Chris Lynch Media the attack was “disgusting” given the fact that a 2 year old was present during the aggravated robbery.
Police are following positive lines of enquiry to locate those responsible the spokesperson said.
