Police are investigating following a break in at the Ngai Tahu headquarters in Addington.

The building is the home to Ngāi Tahu tourism, and the radio station 90.5 Tahu FM.

Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu acting CEO Ben Bateman said Police responded to an incident that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

“A person drove a 4WD up on to the patio area outside the premises, got out of the vehicle and forced entry to the building’s foyer only, he said.

“The safety and security of kaimahi is our principal focus. We are assisting police and acting on security advice.”

A Police spokesperson said they responded to an incident at an address on Show Place, Christchurch, around 2:20am on Tuesday.

“A person gained access to the building at this address, and Police are following positive lines of enquiry and remain in contact with the complainants.”
