Multiple police officers have responded to an incident at FreshChoice at Merivale Mall.

A police spokeswoman said they were responding to a job at that location, which was reported at 5.20PM but couldn’t comment further.

The father of a worker at the supermarket said his daughter told him the supermarket was robbed and staff were placed in lockdown.

Police were yet to confirm this.

Police officers had congregated at the exit of the supermarket, while staff were seen sitting outside the supermarket in the mall.

Officers were directing shoppers away from the supermarket saying it had closed for the night.

A woman on the phone from the supermarket said to “call back tomorrow.”
