Police are investigating a brazen aggravated robbery that took place in St Martins.

A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch Media at around 11.15am a man entered a store armed with a weapon.

 The man demanded money and then took a quantity of cash from the till at the Paper Tree bookstore.

Witnesses said the offender was holding a firearm in one hand and a knife in the other.

Nobody was injured in the robbery and the man was reported to be travelling on a bicycle the police spokeswoman said.

 Inquiries were underway to identify and locate the offender.
