Christchurch police are hunting for an armed offender who robbed a currency exchange counter in Westfield Mall.

A police spokesman said officers responded to the robbery inside a shopping mall on Rotherham Street in Riccarton around 2:30pm.

“It appears the offender was armed, not with a firearm.

No one was injured during the incident.

Inquiries were ongoing to locate the offenders the police spokesman said.
