Three people are reported to be injured following a crash near Rangiora.

At 8.50am, Police were called to Lineside Road and Fernside Road, Flaxton.

A Police spokesperson told Chris Lynch Media two vehicles were involved in the crash.

St John responded with four ambulances, one rapid response vehicle, and one operations manager.

Four patients, two in serious condition and two in moderate condition, were taken to Christchurch Hospital.

Traffic management is in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

The serious crash unit have been advised and traffic management has set up, with motorists experiencing heavy delays heading into Christchurch.
