A stolen car, driven by a youth, has smashed into a house in Linwood, leaving the engine running.
A police spokesman told Chris Lynch at 1.10pm police located a vehicle that had been stolen and attempted to stop it in a driveway around England Street and Worcester Street.
A Police car was damaged as the vehicle drove off.
The vehicle of interest was found crashed in Gloucester Street.
Neighbours Kerry and James told Chris Lynch they heard an “almighty smash” on the corner of Gloucester and Rochester Street, and ran outside to see what happened.
They said youths ran from the vehicle, including a young boy and girl.
It’s understood they were arrested further down Rochester Steeet, after running into a property.
Police units were seen on Linwood Avenue near Gloucester Street moments before the crash.
Kerry said a police car drove past the scene of the crash and told them not to touch the running vehicle.
While Chris Lynch Media was at the scene of the crash two police officers arrived in an unmarked police vehicle and took statements from Kerry and James.
No one inside the house at the time of the crash.
A police spokesman said four young people – three females and a male were soon located by officers and apprehended.
