Police have arrested two men after the vehicle they were in failed to stop.
A police spokesman told Chris Lynch Media at 1AM, police on a routine patrol, came across a vehicle that had been reported stolen.
The car was followed for a short time and failed to stop when signaled to do so.
Police units boxed-in the vehicle at the intersection of Tuam Street and Stanmore Road about 1.05am the spokesman said.
Two men were arrested and will be appearing in the Christchurch District Court on dishonesty and driving charges.
