The passenger of a light aircraft has been seriously injured after it crash-landed in Oxford this afternoon.
A police spokesperson told Chris Lynch Media police were advised at 2.40pm that a light plane had landed short of the runway on Browns Road, View Hill.
The crash happened at the Wheels with Wings show. The aircraft is a microlight two-seater plane.
An eyewitness told Chris Lynch Media the crash happened just after takeoff.
“It appeared to struggle for speed and stalled.”
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said they have transported one patient [the passenger] in a serious condition to Christchurch hospital.
Another patient, the pilot, is in a moderate condition and was treated at the scene.
A rescue helicopter was also initially called. Fire and Emergency crews were at the scene.
