A car crashed into a power pole in Bromley last night injuring the driver, a pregnant woman, and a dog.

A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch Media police were notified of a single-vehicle crash on Hay Street around 11pm where a car had crashed into a power pole.

She said the two occupants were transported to hospital with minor injuries. The road was not blocked and the vehicle was towed.

Relatives of the occupants have commented, confirming the driver of the car was speeding.

One resident who lives outside the scene said the street was often used by speeding drivers wanting to cut across from Bromley to Linwood.

The mother of the pregnant 17-year-old occupant said her daughter was doing fine.

A St John Ambulance spokesman said they treated two patients, and both were transported to Christchurch hospital.

The police spokeswoman said “no charges have been filed at this stage and police are making follow-up enquiries.”
