An accident involving a vehicle in Cashmere has prompted a large emergency response.
Emergency services were called to Purau Terrace near the intersection with Cashmere Road and Barrington Street.
A vehicle has rolled.
Police have blocked off Purau Terrace.
A police spokesman said they were responding to a single vehicle collision at the roundabout on Barrington Street and Cashmere Road.
A St John Ambulance spokesman said two ambulances and two rapid response vehicles were sent to the scene.
Two patients will be taken to Christchurch Hospital (by road)
One in a serious condition, one in a moderate condition.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the accident are underway.
