Fire and Emergency appliances were called to the scene of a fire at another scrap metal yard in Woolston.
A spokesman said emergency services received the first call at 10.30 PM to the yard off Chapmans Road.
He said Fire and Emergency then received multiple calls from people in the area.

By the time the first fire truck from Woolston Fire Station arrived, the facility was well ablaze.
Fire appliances from Spreydon, ANZAC, and Central City were called to the scene.
A fire aerial apparatus was also being used to fight the blaze.

The fire covered about 300 square metres.
Loud explosions could be heard coming from the scene, with wind pushing smoke in an easterly direction.
The Fire and Emergency spokesman said no one was injured.
Police cordoned off nearby streets and were patrolling the area, while fire crews were expected to be at the scene overnight.
The blaze was not as big as last month’s fire at the nearby National Steel scrap metal yard, which occurred on August 17. That fire is still being treated as suspicious.
As of 12.30AM Monday, no public health warnings were issued.
