Police have yet to make an arrest following an alleged aggravated robbery at a social housing complex in St Albans.

Officers were called to Dover Street just after 8 o’clock yesterday morning after receiving reports of a serious incident.

A police spokesperson said a reported aggravated robbery had taken place.

A St John spokesperson said one person was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

Chris Lynch Media spoke to one of the occupants who was home during the alleged robbery.

He said his partner was injured during the attack while he was forced and locked in the bathroom.

The occupant said he believed the offender may have targeted the wrong address, claiming a former neighbour had previously been involved in drug dealing.

His partner, who was assaulted, suffered a wound to the head after a device with a hook was used in the attack he said.

The occupant said the complex was primarily home to residents with mental health issues.

While it was quiet on the day Chris Lynch Media visited, he said some residents could at times become loud and occasionally aggressive.

A detective was seen door-knocking in nearby streets yesterday morning.

A police spokesperson confirmed no arrests had been made at this stage.
