A motorcyclist has died following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Birch Hill Road and Yaxley’s Road in Loburn, Waimakariri District.

A police spokesperson said emergency services responded around 1pm. The motorcyclist was found in critical condition but could not be resuscitated and died at the scene.

The Serious Crash Unit has examined the scene, and investigations into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

The road remains closed but is expected to reopen shortly.
