St Andrew’s College has confirmed a student has been suspended following an incident that allegedly took place during a Year 6 school camp last week.
In an updated statement sent to chrislynchmedia.com on Monday, Rector Mark Wilson said the school was aware of the incident.
“We can confirm that due to the nature of the allegations, one of our students has been suspended from school while an investigation is conducted,” Wilson said.
He acknowledged a formal complaint had been made to police but said, “We have been told that they are not conducting any investigation.”

Wilson said the college was providing support to those affected. “We are supporting the students and families involved,” he said.
Wilson said, “We are not aware of any students who have left the College relating to this or any other related concerns.”
Due to privacy concerns, Wilson said the school was unable to comment further. “At this time, we are unable to comment further on the specifics of the incident to protect the privacy of the students and families involved,” he said.
“We are taking this matter very seriously and are committed to addressing it thoroughly.”
Wilson added, “If anyone has concerns, we would be happy to hear from them directly to address this.”
