Police seeking the driver of a white van involved in a hit-and-run in Christchurch have located them and filed a charge.

A woman in her 50s was hit by the van while crossing Marshlands Road on the evening of Friday 12 August.

She was discharged from hospital yesterday and is recovering at home.

The driver of the van has been spoken to and Police have filed a charge of failing to stop and ascertain injury after a crash.

The 64-year-old man has been summonsed to appear in Christchurch District Court on September 20.
