A man has been arrested by armed police following a firearms at a Spencerville house.

A police spokesman told chrislynchmedia.com: “enquires were being made at an address with cordons in place.

Some staff are armed as a precaution.”

Chrislynchmedia.com understands a man was seen pointing a gun at a woman at the Heyders Road address.

St John was called to the scene and stationed at a police cordon. Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) staff were also deployed to the area.

A woman at Spencer Park said she was unable to leave due to police cordons, while the park was blocked off to anyone trying to enter.

A neighbour told chrislynchmedia.com they heard yelling from the house before armed police arrived.
