A fire has ripped through an apartment in Phillipstown this morning.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said they were called to the blaze on Bordesley Street at 7.45 am.
When two appliances from the Christchurch City Station arrived, the apartment was already well involved.
Two additional appliances were called to the scene from Spreydon and Woolston.
An hour later, crews were still on the scene, dampening down hotspots. A fire investigator has been sent to the scene, although the blaze is not thought to be suspicious.
