Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen a person walking in Rangiora and nearby areas, including local walking tracks, on the morning of Tuesday, 3 December.
The individual was described as having very short, dark hair and was wearing long black pants and a grey hoodie. Police believe the person was likely seen by cyclists, dog walkers, or others in the area between 7am and 10am.

Authorities have not said why they are seeking the individual but have emphasised the importance of public assistance.
They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from that morning that captured the individual.
“If you saw this person or have footage, please contact us, as you could have information that will assist our enquiries,” police said.
