The Extravaganza Fair

The family-friendly Extravaganza Fair is on this long weekend from 9am – 5pm Friday to Sunday. Check out unique tiny homes, funky stalls including tattooing, piercing, henna, rides, readers and food caravans, all in a festival-type atmosphere. Don’t miss the Ashton Family Circus, Mermaid Story Time, Burns the Dragon and more. Come along to 61 New Brighton Road, Burwood. Koha entry.

Crafting for Wellbeing – Macrame

Enjoy some ‘me’ time and foster your creativity while learning a new skill. This months Crafting for Wellbeing session at Tūranga will teach you the basics of macrame. Pop over to the library from 2 – 3.30pm Saturday to get involved. No need to bring any materials as all are supplied.

Christchurch Board Game Showcase

Experience the best of Christchurch tabletop game design at Meepleopolis for the second Christchurch Game Showcase. Discover the latest and greatest locally designed games, meet the creative minds behind them and stand a chance to win fantastic prizes.

Meepleopolis is at 319 Stanmore Road, come along between 1 – 5pm Sunday.

Story Time At Riccarton House

Come along to Story Time in the historic morning room at Riccarton House on Friday morning. The session will be on from 10.30 – 11am and is aimed at pre school children (older siblings welcome).

Gold coin donations are accepted and will go towards the Bush Enhancement Project.

Form & Fire Exhibition

Celebrate the work of the Canterbury Potters Association (CPA) at the Form & Fire Exhibition at Canterbury Museum at CoCA, 66 Gloucester Street. The exhibition includes an electric blue flying saucer from the 1980s, masterworks from the 1960s and pieced by fames Kiwi artists like Doris Holland who painted under the name Doris Lusk.

The exhibition is the legacy of a long relationship between Canterbury Museum and CPA. The Museum has hosted the group’s annual show since 1991 and has acquired work from Canterbury potters since the 1960s. The free display will be on until 24 November.

Little River Farmers Market

Check out the Little River Farmers Market at 4243 Christchurch Akaroa Road this weekend. The community run market with a focus on produce and crafts from around Banks Peninsula. The market is open on Sunday from 9.30am – 2pm.

The Seekers Mākete

Explore a vibrant market featuring local artisans and craftspeople at The Arts Centre. Open from 10:00 AM on Saturday.
