Christchurch is set to experience the latest in urban transport innovation as the FTN Motion’s Great FTN Summer Roadshow arrives in the city from November 15-17.

With demo rides available, locals will get the chance to try out the Streetdog, New Zealand’s own electric motorbike designed to offer a stylish, green alternative to traditional commuting.

Created by FTN Motion, the Streetdog is making waves across the country, with over 160 of these electric motorbikes already on New Zealand roads.

FTN Motion founder Luke Sinclair said the roadshow is more than just a showcase.

“We’re excited to bring the Streetdog directly to New Zealanders, giving them a chance to experience the dynamic ride of our electric motorbikes. This event isn’t just about the bikes—it’s about building a community of eco-conscious commuters.”

The roadshow stop in Christchurch will feature both the Streetdog Classic, which can be ridden with a car licence and has a top speed of 50 km/h, and the beta version of the Streetdog80, capable of speeds up to 80 km/h and requiring a motorcycle licence.

Riders will be able to test the bikes, meet the FTN team, and get a firsthand look at the benefits of electric commuting.

Each event in the roadshow is hosted in partnership with local businesses.

The Christchurch stop will take place at Riverside parking in the Central City, offering residents a convenient location to experience the Streetdog.

FTN Motion’s mission is to support urban areas moving towards greener transport options. The Streetdog motorbikes are crafted in New Zealand with a focus on quality and minimalist design. Both models come with practical features like 30 litres of lockable storage and a removable battery that can be charged at any standard power socket.
