A wildfire broke out on Flaxton Road, Rangiora, at 2:20 pm today.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said as of 3:00 pm, 14 fire appliances and two helicopters were on site, working to contain the blaze.
Several structures were under threat, and one property had been evacuated as a precaution.
Authorities reported that today had seen multiple out-of-control fires, urging the public to avoid lighting any new fires, as strong winds were expected to increase the risk.
Residents were also advised to check on any previous fires to ensure they were fully extinguished.
A command unit was also set up near the scene.
Fire and Emergency requested that people stay clear of the area to allow crews to safely work on controlling and extinguishing the fire.
