A man has been arrested following an alleged stabbing incident in central Christchurch.
As first reported by chrislynchmedia.com, emergency services responded to the “serious assault” on Hereford Street just after 4AM on Saturday.
Two people were taken to hospital, seriously injured.
A police spokesman said a 22-year-old man has been arrested and is due to appear in Christchurch District Court today facing a charge of wounding with intent to grievous bodily harm.
Meanwhile, police arrested another person following a reported assault on Hereford Street this morning.
Police were called just before 7:15am. No injuries have been reported, the police spokesman said.
