Police are hunting the driver of a vehicle that failed to stop for police in Christchurch.
A police spokesperson told chrislynchmedia.com the car failed to stop for police on Hills Road at 8.15AM on Monday.
The vehicle continued through Shirley and Mairehau to St Albans where two occupants exited the vehicle and the driver continued, the police spokesperson said.
An eyewitness told chrislynchmedia.com at around 12:00pm they saw a large police presence in and around the Papanui High School.
A police dog handler was observed tracking a scent though the Papanui domain, towards Langdons Road.
A short time later, police were seen to apprehending two youths in the car park of Papanui High School, close to the railway lines on Langdon Road.
Multiple police units were also on scene at the time. Police confirmed two occupants were arrested by police.
The police spokesperson said the offender vehicle was then seen driving down Sawyers Arms Road and Main North Road, where the vehicle was abandoned shortly after.
The vehicle has been towed to be forensically examine, the police spokesperson said.
