A ten-year naming sponsorship deal has been secured for Te Kaha stadium, which will now be known as One New Zealand Stadium.
The agreement, brokered by Venues Ōtautahi, has been lauded as a major accomplishment for the city.
In an interview with chrislynchmedia.com Christchurch Mayor Phil Mauger praised the efforts behind the deal, saying, “It is outstanding. It’s a ten-year deal, and Venues Ōtautahi has done a fantastic job getting this across the line.
I would like to thank One New Zealand for their sponsorship for ten years—absolutely outstanding.”
Mauger acknowledged the length of the deal as a notable achievement.
“I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, I want Christchurch to be the sporting and events capital of New Zealand, and this is certainly going to go a long way towards achieving that.”
