A man has died following a fatal scooter crash in Sydenham.

A police spokesman told Chris Lynch Media they responded to a single scooter crash at the intersection of Brougham Street and Waltham Road, where the person fell  off a scooter after colliding with a pole.

Emergency services responded around 11pm.

A St John spokesperson said they responded to the scene with two ambulances, one rapid response unit, and one manager to the scene.

One person died at the scene and the Serious Crash Unit has been advised.

The road was blocked while the scene was cleared.
