Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash involving two cars in Opawa.

A police spokeswoman said the crash happened at 2:43pm on Opawa Road.

A resident told Chris Lynch two cars have crashed into each other, and one person is trapped.

The crash is outside a block of shops known as ‘Opawa Mall.’

Two Fire and Emergency crews are at the scene along with two St John Ambulance.

Opawa Road has been blocked off in both lanes.

It’s understood two people have sustained injuries.
