QEII pools will be closed for two weeks for maintenance work.

The closure will run from Monday 17 January until Sunday 30 January 2022, with staff redeployed to other facilities during this time.

Christchurch City Council Head of Recreation, Sports and Events Nigel Cox said work will include maintenance of circulation pumps, filters, heating systems and pool tanks.

An automatic door between the pool change rooms and the reception is also being installed, to help cut down on any draughts coming from reception through to the pool. It is only the pools that will be closed.

The rest of the facility, including the gym and group fitness classes, will remain open with staff onsite.

The pools are scheduled to re-open on Monday 31 January 2022.
