Residents in Spencerville can expect a visible police presence in the area tonight.

It follows a pre-planned search warrant and AOS deployment to Lower Styx Road this evening.

A local resident told Chris Lynch said he heard shots being fired and armed police and a van were guarding the property.

A police spokeswoman said armed police were called to the address as a precaution.

No arrests have been made.

However, there will continue to be a police presence in the area overnight and tomorrow morning as the search is completed.
