A 52 year old man has appeared at the Christchurch District Court today charged with kidnapping in relation to the missing real estate agent Yanfei Bao.

She has not been seen since Wednesday morning last week.

The 52-year-old has been remanded in custody until the 15th of August and he has interim name suppression.

The man was arrested in Christchurch Airport yesterday.

A scene examination took place at a Hornby house last night after police obtained a search warrant.

The house was for sale and due to go to auction on Wednesday.
